About the founder:

Barbara Jones founded Little Pink Houses in 2011. After overseeing the new construction of her summer residence and managing the complete renovation of her 1754 farmhouse, she decided to put the knowledge she acquired to use. The trend in her town of Needham, Massachusetts to tear down old homes built during the turn of the century and replace them with large over-scaled houses is growing and serves as the inspiration for Little Pink Houses. Her goal is to preserve structurally sound, older homes to serve home buyers looking for modest sized homes in the lower price range in the Metro West areas of Boston.

Her renovation of her Needham home has been awarded The Needham Historical Commission Award For Excellence in Historic Preservation and has been featured on the local Needham cable channel. Her summer home in Westport, Massachusetts has been featured in the publication, From House to Home, which serves the Southcoast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Little Pink Houses has experience press in the Boston Globe and The Needham Times, receiving extensive positive feedback from many local residents.

While Barbara’s educational background is in Journalism and Public Relations, her lifelong passion for architecture, interior design, antiques and “anything old” continues to inspire her in her work.

In case you are wondering, when she acquired her first project, it was pink!

Carrying the load:

The range of work that has been done on Little Pink House projects is not very different from new construction. The majority of the workload is performed by local firefighters on their off days who have specialized in finished carpentry. Everything including demolition, window installation, foundation repair, interior and exterior painting, tile, finished carpentry, flooring, kitchen cabinet installation and more is done by these skilled tradesman that have been in the construction business for more than 25 years. A team of subcontractors fill in to do the electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks.
