65 Crest Road

Built in 1878, this brick Victorian is in solid, well maintained condition. The barn that accompanies the house has been twice converted, first to a garage and currently is a heated space with electricity that served as the previous owner’s art studio. The interior and exterior have been painted and immaculately maintained. The lot is professionally landscaped and is maintained beautifully.

Due to the age of the house, very few rooms have hard-wired light fixtures. Old windows are painted shut and are in need of hardware to allow full operation. A lack of air conditioning makes the home uncomfortable in the summer months. A bedroom and full bath on the second floor are without heat. The home is heated by steam heat radiators.

The work on this project is in progress. Updated electrical work will be done to include 10 hardwired light fixtures. Windows will be worked on to enable full operation of the storms and screens. Additional radiators will be installed in the areas lacking heat. Air conditioning units will be added.

Plans to fully furnish the home are underway to allow the home to serve as an executive retreat or temporary home to visiting professors to 3 local colleges.

The electrical updates including several hardwired fixtures and recessed lighting are complete and make this property warm and inviting where previously the lack of lighting made the home hard to negotiate in the evenings. Heating updates, window treatments and full furnishings make this property a comfortable rental in a very convenient location to Wellesley Center. The exterior landscaping and private back yard create very enjoyable outdoor space. The property is maintained year-round by a professional landscape company.
